Vintage Footed Dresser/Desk Box
Created by Weidlich Bros. Mfg. of Bridgeport Connecticut; early 20th Century
This stunning Box Features a Sculptured Bengal Tiger stealthily poised upon a rugged outcropping
On the front of the box, through the swaying Palms we see a brilliant Sun emerging from the horizon.
The Tiger is symbolic of personal strength and energy and incites our sensation of awe & admiration.
Swaying palms may represent longevity, resilience and renewal.  Indeed, some say the Palm holds the nest of the Phoenix.
Heavily weighted
Lined with emerald green Velvet
Everything about this Box is Excellent, including the lining
W.B. Mfg did a lot of silverplate.  I have no idea of the composition of this box.
It would present Beautifully as a Gift to be cherished for years to come.
