19th CENTURY TWO LARGE PORCELAIN STATUETTE OF GREYHOUNDS
A pair of English Staffordshire porcelain models of greyhounds or whippets shown seated
on their haunches facing left and right,
in stately fashion, each with the recently captured hare hanging from a tree stump. Each with a little tuft of grass in front of their paws.
Decorated 'in the round' and
painted with iron-red coats and gilt collars, on bright oval gilt-line bases.
Vent hole to the underside.
Overall excellent condition with minor chips (see pictures).
Victorian, circa 1860
Dimensions:
H 21.5cm - L12cm each
The large-scale size is rare in this breed.
